Whether Discharge is simply one of Final Conflicts primary influences or their entire reason for being may be debatable but what isn’t is how great a hardcore record Ashes to Ashes is. It’s decidedly Punk Rock but could not exist without its Metal trimmings. It has all the attitude and urgency of the former without sacrificing any of the aggression or heaviness of the latter. Regardless who Final Conflict were biting, Ashes to Ashes is a stone cold classic of the genre that sounds as great today as it did in 1988.
